It was an honour to take pupils to the official opening of Manningford Hall in Druids. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society have taken the space and created a warm hub, a food bank and a place for the community to gather. Archbishop Bernard Longley came to bless the space and spoke to visitors about the importance of caring for others and reaching out to those most in need. Joined by other local primary schools who led singing and reflections, our pupils recited a prayer given to us by St. John Henry Newman:

‘GOD has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good; I shall do His work.’

It was an honour to meet Archbishop Bernard who was very impressed by our pupils for their excellent behaviour and enthusiastic approach to the event.
