St. Jude's Catholic Primary School

During the last week of term, all classes spent time learning about and reflecting on the events of Holy Week. Our Holy Week activities and prayers allowed pupils to journey through these important days and everyone engaged in a most reverent way.

In the Catholic Church, the season of Easter lasts 50 days – from Easter Sunday to the feast of Pentecost. Easter is the greatest feast in the Church year, when we recall Jesus the Christ rising from the dead and securing for us the promise of new life. It was a pleasure to share scripture with the children and allow them to work together to understand this incredibly significant season of the Church.

From class prayer services to role plays, Holy Week art and craft activities to thoughtful written reflections and church visits for the Stations of the Cross, the whole school community have worked incredibly hard. A special mention must go to Years Three and Four who led the rest of the school and family members through Holy Week with their Stations of the Cross production. It was a very poignant and moving to end the term and there was some wonderful clarinet accompaniment from our talented pupils in Year 6.
