Special Event - World Book Day

1 March 2018

World Book Day is a celebration! It is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it is a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

This is the 21st year there has been a World Book Day, and on 1st March 2018, children of St Jude’s Primary School dressed up and enjoyed sharing their love of books with each other.

As usual, there were some fantastic ideas for costumes from staff and pupils.

Throughout the week, we celebrated our love of books with a book fair, after school stories and a book swap shop. We had a fantastic dance workshop for all the classes in school based upon ‘Alice in Wonderland’ - the children’s performances were great!
